2025 AGM Results

The Hinton Mountain Bike Association held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 8th at the Old Grind cafe. The Board of Directors presented a 40-minute PowerPoint presentation reviewing HMBA’s previous year of operations, as well as communicating some plans for this upcoming year.

Some Presentation Highlights:

  1. Memberships are now available for purchase through our website! Buy yours now and start using our HMBA member discounts with local businesses. Membership revenues support our trails, help us access grants, and covers insurance (just to name a few).

  2. A new ‘Mini Flow’ trail is being developed to help prepare beginners for the faster pace and larger features found on Flow Master.

  3. Jack’s Trail Network will be revived and reintegrated into our ‘Trail Maintenance Plan’.

  4. Just Giv’r will be be re-routed off the seismic line and will be re-built as a dedicated bike trail.

  5. SprocKids will be starting their spring session in May and is still looking for volunteers! We still need Intermediate/Advanced coaches and ‘sweepers’ to ensure all program levels can be offered.

  6. We are looking for a volunteer ‘Events Coordinator’! So many cool events could be happening in our community, but “many hands makes light work” and we cannot run events without volunteers!

With over 26 attendees, this AGM was a great opportunity for our community to get together in-person and jumpstart the upcoming biking season. By way of vote, our Board of Directors was elected and our community showed overwhelming support for this year’s executive group. With 5 of our 6 executives returning to their HMBA roles, our Board of Directors should be able to offer organizational wisdom and support to its newest member - our new Secretary Andrea Alderman. Special thanks to our outgoing Secretary, Casey Mackay, for her many years of volunteer work with HMBA!

With 52 memberships sold as of today, we are off to a good start for the 2025/2026 membership season! Remember to buy your membership ASAP to start enjoying our HMBA discount with local community partners!
